Second Harvest has undertaken the Space to Erase Hunger capital campaign. With a new facility purchased through prior board fundraising efforts, renovations now need to be made to turn the new building into a food bank. The food bank is already utilizing the new building purchased through the campaign, but the new facility lacks necessary freezer and cooler rooms and the campaign continues with the aim of purchasing these vital additions in 2012.
The Space to Erase Hunger is about transforming a building into a food bank. Remaining renovations include racking the warehouse, building freezer and cooler rooms and installing appropriate hardware and software. These alterations will ensure that the food bank has the resources it needs to erase hunger in our community. The graph below shows our progression toward our goal of seven million dollars.
